| The label that set 'THE WORLD DANCING ON IT'S FEET' was originally a salsa label created by the Brothers Cayre (Joe, Ken and Stan) to feed New York's demand for imported Latin records in the early seventies(with the introduction of Joe Bataan). Though it would be VINCE MONTANA and the SALSOUL ORCHESTRA's 'Salsoul Hustle'(1975), with it's rich Phildelphia strings and R&B rhythm, that would set the tone and establish it as the legendary dance music label it has become today. Also the home of the first commercial 12-inch single, DOUBLE EXPOSURE's 'Ten Percent' and roster of artists such as FIRST CHOICE, LOLEATTA HOLLOWAY, BUNNY SIGLER, INSTANT FUNK, INNER LIFE, SKYY AND AURRA (and that's just to name a few). And certainly, let's not forget the DAZZLING and STUNNING mixes of TOM MOULTON and WALTER GIBBONS. VIVA LA SALSOUL!!!!! |
